Perhaps it was the stirring speech given by Mark Godding, M.D., (the first New Bedford Star Kid!), in honor of Mary Jane MacLean; perhaps it was the view of the ocean from the observation deck of the Kilburn Mill Event Hall; or perhaps it was the delicious appetizers and dinner served by On-The-Go Catering. More likely, it was the promise of a better future, a future built by children who have been empowered by love and opportunities that they otherwise would not have had. Meeting and listening to the actual children whose lives are transformed through education and community, made possible by open-hearted individuals, inspired everyone in attendance. It was all of these extraordinary delights, and so much more, that raised a staggering $240,000; the highest Starry Night revenue since the inception of New Bedford Star Kids!
