Sponsors

Sponsors make our program possible. Each New Bedford Star Kid is matched with an individual sponsor or a group willing to contribute toward the student’s tuition. Sponsorships allow our New Bedford Star Kids to attend small, mission-based non-public schools. Sponsors are able to see the direct impact they are having on a New Bedford Star Kid’s life when they receive the child’s report card, school photo, letter from the Executive Director and a thank you note from the student. Sponsors may meet their student or choose to remain anonymous. The sponsor may also choose to become the student’s mentor. Statistics show that a child is more likely to succeed if they know that someone is interested in their success.

7th Annual Stonebridge Croquet Tournament

Close to 90 mallet wielding supporters of the Star Kids Scholarship Program gathered on Sunday, September 29th on the lawn of Tome Andrade and Julie Lohr’s home to battle for the victorious Stonebridge Croquet Tournament trophy. John Foley single-handedly oversaw the croquet portion of the day. Tom’s Market and Black Goose provided food and beverages for this fund raising event. Through the generosity of those who attended, one more Star Kid is able to benefit from a top-notch education at All Saints Academy and additional revenue was raised fo the our educational programs. Everyone had a grand time and John Hughes left with the trophy in hand!
